Bobocelul		Brieflay
		Dear friends, In May 1998 our town hosted the first Folk Art & Dance Festival for Children "Bobocelul" (meaning 'button of a water lily'), aimed at promoting and developing the folk art and dance among youth. The festival came out interesting and very merry, greatly because the participants had their ages between five and sixteen and represented many countries, such as Moldova, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. We would very much wish that this festival were organized on a regular basis. The children are our future, and their creativity is a mirror of the new century. As hosts of the festival, the Children's Folk Dance ensemble "Bobocelul" invites you to participate in this fairy holiday as well. You will find more info on this festival on this site. View all photos In May 1998 our town hosted the first Folk Art Festival for Children "Bobocelul". Cahul boasts rich traditions in children's folk dance: several ensembles work in town, most of them represent Moldova regularly at various international festivals abroad. The launch of the Folk Dance Festival for Children "Bobocelul" was thus a natural happening. The festival featured groups from Moldova, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. The Children danced and sang, their teachers shared their experiences in education, and the town lived a period of a fairy tale holiday. Although the Festival went very well, it has not become a regular one. We very much hope that the new date of the second edition of the festival will be announced soon. Then we could truly say: "Dear friends, welcome to Cahul, the Festival Capital of Moldova!"
